I know first hand that it can be hard to reach out to a healthcare professional for support, after having a difficult birthing experience.

and because of that, I just want to hold compassion around how isolating this experience can be.

it’s natural to grieve the birth you had planned, and dreamed about.

yes, the goal is that you and the baby are safe, but that doesn’t begin to touch the emotional difficulty of a traumatic birthing experience.

it’s also very normal to be holding onto trauma in your body, if you experienced trauma during one of life’s most vulnerable experiences- giving birth.

I’m a licensed Canadian clinical therapist, and I use a blend of EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Inner-Child Work, and mindfulness based body-centred practices.
